At our Recognizing Capacity session, we will be joined by Janet Klees and Laura Powell, alongside families involved in the Durham Family Resources' Recognizing Capacity Project. We will explore how we can recognize the will and preferences of our loved ones as decision-makers in their own lives.

Starting with the assumption that all people have will and preferences, we will explore how there is nothing more natural than seeking support from others when we make decisions. We have been given the incredible opportunity to have Janet Klees, Laura Powell, and families involved in the Project come and join us for our session, who will share about their learning and how they changed their thinking.
We welcome anyone who is curious about what could be possible with recognizing their loved one with a intellectual and/or developmental disability as the decision maker in their own life.
