Lives

REA-L is a provincial non-profit organization, we are creating  a provincial network of families who are intentionally exploring  and choosing options that decrease our dependency on traditional services for our family members with an intellectual or developmental disability. We provide a space for families to share information and learn from the experience of others.

Join us and help create a world where everyone belongs!

LEARN MORE

We acknowledge with respect and gratitude that our work and the lands on which we live and gather take place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of Indigenous peoples throughout British Columbia.

We honour the enduring cultures, traditions, and contributions of the Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth, Kwakwaka'wakw, Nlaka'pamux, Secwepemc, Ktunaxa, Dakelh, and many other Indigenous communities. We recognize the displacement of Indigenous peoples from their homelands and our involvement in the ongoing occupation of these lands as uninvited and unwelcome guests.

We are committed to fostering relationships of respect, reciprocity, and reconciliation as we work towards a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

We Provide Space for:

Education
Reflection
Mentorship
Networks of Support
REA-L provides a space for on-going learning  in best practices which support an inclusive life for people with an intellectual or developmental disability.  Having an opportunity to reflect on the dynamic and evolving ways the lives of our family members will and can unfold provides consistency and a clear vision of what is possible.

We offer a safe space for families to share stories, and connect with other families who have a shared vision of inclusion, to learn from each other and deepen our knowledge on how to better support our family member's vision for a regular equitable and authentic life.
